🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1961, a witness in Troy, Ohio, reported observing an object moving at high speed. The object appeared as a white light resembling a star, but its brightness shifted toward red. The witness noted that the object moved in a straight southwest to northeast direction for approximately 1 to 2 minutes. It was stated that it couldn't be a satellite, as satellites typically take 10 to 15 minutes to cover that distance. Additionally, a vapor trail similar to a rocket was observed, but the object was estimated to be moving 4 to 5 times faster than a typical aircraft. Despite this, investigators concluded it was likely a high-flying jet aircraft.
The report includes details such as the object's straight trajectory, lack of sound, and a vapor trail resembling a rocket. The witness did not mention other objects or strange phenomena, supporting the theory that it was a conventional aircraft seen from an unusual angle. Although the report doesn't fully resolve the uncertainty, it suggests the sighting was not of an unexplained phenomenon, but a common aerial event.
