🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1961, a witness in Vandalia, Ohio, reported an object moving west at an estimated speed of 3000 mph. The object was described as a flashing light similar to a missile, with no sound. The observation lasted only a few seconds, making precise identification difficult. Due to its brightness and trajectory, researchers considered it could be a meteor entering the atmosphere. Although no photos were taken, the report suggests the object was small and its behavior consistent with an astronomical phenomenon.
