🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1961, a witness in Dawson Creek, Canada, observed a bright object resembling a meteor. The object, spherical and four times brighter than a star, traveled from south to north with an orange tail. It ended in a burst of white light. The sighting lasted 3 to 4 seconds, and the witness described it as a falling star. No known reentries were recorded in that direction, increasing uncertainty about its nature.
Although investigators considered the possibility of a meteor, the direction and features did not match typical patterns. The lack of photos and the inability to confirm with radar left the sighting unexplained. The report was classified as likely astronomical, but doubts remained.
