🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1961, a witness in Pine Mountain, Georgia, observed an object resembling a large black wheel moving across the sky. The object passed in front of the setting sun and vanished quickly without allowing any estimation of speed or distance. Despite the clear visual description, there were no photographs or further follow-up. The lack of detailed data prevented authorities from classifying the phenomenon, leaving it in the category of "insufficient information for evaluation." The case was archived without definitive conclusions.
The official report from Project 10073 recorded the sighting as insufficient for a conclusive evaluation, a common outcome for many UFO reports of the time. The lack of response from the witness to subsequent questionnaires further hindered analysis. These types of records, though brief, are valuable for understanding how UFO sightings were handled in the 1960s.
