🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian sighting of three fast-moving aerial objects occurred in Duluth, Minnesota, on October 11, 1961. The witness, an anonymous woman, described three objects moving at an astonishing speed, much faster than the Echo I balloon. The first was yellow and 15 times larger than the other two, which were red and appeared connected to the first. The official report considered it a possible refueling mission, but did not rule out balloons or astronomical phenomena.
The observation lasted 3 to 4 minutes, and the objects covered an 110-degree arc in the sky. The witness and two teenagers confirmed the presence of the objects, and one of them even sketched a diagram of what was seen. Despite the clarity of the description, no definitive conclusion was reached. NASA forwarded the case to the Air Force, which had the primary responsibility for investigating such phenomena.
