In January 1953, a panel of scientific consultants reviewed reports on Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) to determine if they posed a threat to national security. After analyzing selected incidents provided by government agencies, they concluded there was no evidence that UFOs were a real physical threat or linked to hostile foreign technology. Additionally, there was no indication that current scientific concepts needed revision. The panel recommended that security agencies work to demystify UFOs and reduce their status as enigmatic phenomena by clearly communicating the lack of concrete evidence.
