🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1961, a witness in Dawson City, Canada, observed a bright object with a rapidly dissipating white vapor trail. The object moved in an arc from south to north and disappeared in a northerly direction. The sighting lasted between one and two seconds, limiting the amount of available information. Despite the brief observation, military authorities concluded it was likely a meteor. There were no photographs or radar data, and the observers could not identify the object with certainty. The clear sky and good visibility supported the idea that it was not a common atmospheric phenomenon.
Military authorities requested more information about the object's shape and size, as well as complete weather data. However, the available data was limited, making a more precise evaluation difficult. Although the object was not definitively identified, the report classified the sighting as likely astronomical, suggesting it was a meteor. This case reflects the challenges investigators faced at the time in evaluating UFO sightings with limited information.
