🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1961, an observer in a remote Pacific location noticed a white object blinking at the rate of an aircraft warning beacon. The sighting, recorded in an official report, describes how the object appeared while watching weather balloons. Initially, the blinking matched a safety device, causing confusion. However, the object disappeared after moving northward at low altitude. Despite the lack of photos, the data suggest it could be an aircraft, though other explanations remain possible.
The report includes details like the exact time, geographic coordinates, and duration of the observation. Two Navy officers, considered highly reliable sources, confirmed the account. Although evaluated as a possible aircraft sighting, the object's nature remained unclear. This case, part of a declassified file, shows how even in the 1960s, observers tried to understand unusual aerial phenomena with the tools available.
