🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An officer aboard the USS Lansing reported in 1961 a satellite-like object with the brightness of a second-magnitude star. The UFO was observed for five minutes, moving from an azimuth of 190° to 210°, and elevating from 75° to 80°. The duration and trajectory of the sighting raised doubts about whether it was a satellite or a balloon. Due to the lack of precise data, such as speed or absolute direction, investigators concluded they could not evaluate the phenomenon with certainty. The report, though brief, reflects the typical confusion of aerial sightings of the era, where visual observations without instruments were common.
