🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1962, multiple witnesses in Ohio and Indiana reported sightings of bright green objects with long tails or trails moving swiftly across the sky. The testimonies were consistent in several aspects: the objects were described as ranging in size from a pea to a dime, visible for 1 to 6 seconds, and moving primarily east to west. The sightings occurred over a period of one hour and 35 minutes at night, with over 30 reports recorded. Although the U.S. Air Force initially considered the possibility of meteors, particularly during the Quadrantids meteor shower, details such as the green color and horizontal movement did not align with typical meteor behavior. The Air Force concluded it was likely meteors, but also mentioned other explanations such as fireballs or astronomical phenomena.
