🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1962, a U.S. Navy officer reported a round object seen at sea, with the size and brightness of Venus. The sighting occurred during evening star observations, and the object was tracked for four minutes using a compass and sextant. Although initially considered a balloon or satellite, no definitive identification was made. The witnesses, deemed highly reliable, found no conventional explanation for the event.
The report notes normal weather conditions with no unusual meteorological or astronomical activity. There were no attempts at identification or physical evidence left behind. Despite the careful observation, the object remains unexplained. The case was filed without a clear conclusion, leaving open the possibility of an unrecorded satellite or another unknown phenomenon.
