🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In January 1962, a witness in Lynn, Massachusetts observed a luminous object for over an hour. It was described as a light that changed in brightness, with the sharpness of a star. The object, elliptical and moving from the northwest to overhead, was seen from a house. Although initially considered a possible weather balloon, no definitive confirmation was made. The night was clear with a nearly full moon, ideal conditions for spotting a balloon. However, the lack of precise data left the case in limbo.
The official report marked the possibility of it being a balloon, but other explanations were not ruled out. The witness, a teenager, had no prior experience with unidentified flying objects, adding mystery to the case. Despite the long observation and detailed description, there were no images or additional testimonies confirming the object's nature. The case was closed with a conclusion of "insufficient information," but with a tendency to consider it a weather balloon.
