🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1962, a luminous phenomenon was observed by three different sources in Kansas. A yellowish meteor with a tail resembling a streak of light was seen for 5 to 10 seconds. The Hutchison tower, along with two commercial flights, reported the same object. Although initially intriguing, the duration and flat trajectory of the event led investigators to conclude it was a meteor. The lack of sound and rapid movement supported this interpretation.
The observation was recorded by the Air Technical Intelligence Center and classified as a typical meteor case. Despite no photos being taken, the testimonies aligned on the details, reinforcing the conclusion. The object showed no characteristics of a balloon, aircraft, or unidentified phenomenon, and the UFO possibility was dismissed. This case is an example of how multiple observers can report the same natural phenomenon without confusion.
