🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1962, a witness in Rolesville, North Carolina, saw an object quickly pass between him and the moon. He described it as resembling a jet but moving at an unusually high speed, almost double what he considered normal for an aircraft. Although no photos or radar were involved, the observer used binoculars and noted the object had no visible markings and appeared to have delta wings. The official report concluded there was insufficient data to evaluate the case, and it was dismissed as not a threat to national security.
The testimony arrived late, in March, and no further information was sought. Despite the observer mentioning the possibility of a jet, the duration of the sighting wasn't specified, complicating the evaluation. Some experts considered the possibility of a meteor or balloon, but no conventional explanation was confirmed. The original letter, written with enthusiasm and curiosity, was sent to military authorities but received no concrete response.
