In February 1962, an all-night gas station attendant in Shreveport, Louisiana, observed two mysterious aerial objects on consecutive nights. Both objects appeared as a round ball with a blue flame and a red tail about 10 feet long. They moved eastward at around 500 feet, maintaining straight and level flight. The witness, who used no optical aids, described the objects as suddenly extinguishing and disappearing without a trace. Although initially considered a meteor, the presence of a red tail and no satellite reentry reports led to the conclusion that they were meteors.
