Summary

In February 1962, an all-night gas station attendant in Shreveport, Louisiana, observed two mysterious aerial objects on consecutive nights. Both objects appeared as a round ball with a blue flame and a red tail about 10 feet long. They moved eastward at around 500 feet, maintaining straight and level flight. The witness, who used no optical aids, described the objects as suddenly extinguishing and disappearing without a trace. Although initially considered a meteor, the presence of a red tail and no satellite reentry reports led to the conclusion that they were meteors. However, the coincidence of similar features and direction on both nights generated some intrigue.

The classified report by the U.S. Air Force included testimonies and observations from the witness, who had normal vision for his age. Weather conditions and wind data were recorded, but no clear explanation matched the observed objects. Although balloons and aircraft were ruled out, the final report concluded that the sightings were meteors. However, the coincidence of details between both events and the absence of similar reports in the area made the case intriguing, though without a definitive resolution.
