🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1962, a pilot and a flight engineer reported a white object with a tail descending in a straight line. The object, seen from an aircraft, slowly disintegrated while burning. Although initially considered a re-entering vehicle, investigators concluded it was a common meteor. The sighting lasted between 5 and 7 seconds, and no photos were taken.
The report classifies the event as an air-visual observation and rules out other possibilities like balloons or aircraft. Despite the brief duration, the witnesses are considered reliable. The object showed no typical UFO characteristics, leading to the conclusion that it was a normal astronomical event.
