🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1962, a witness in Grandview, Missouri, reported a bright object with a tail that caught their attention while watching television. The object appeared as an extremely bright yellowish star and moved from the northeast horizon at a 45-degree angle toward the south or southwest. No sound was heard, and it was observed to spin or turn while maintaining its path. Although the possibility of a balloon or aircraft was mentioned, the description did not fully match either. The report, classified under Project 10073, provided no further details on the object's identity, but highlighted the unusual nature of its behavior.
The official Air Force report did not reach definitive conclusions, but considered the object could have been a balloon or an astronomical phenomenon. However, the observer's description, along with the lack of noise and spinning movement, generated some uncertainty. The case was filed without a clear resolution, but remains an interesting example of how UFO reports were handled at that time. Although no further action was taken, the testimony reflects the curiosity and lack of explanation surrounding these phenomena in the 1960s.
