🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1962, an object was detected by radar in Labrador, Canada, without a visual sighting. Ground radar and two F-102 aircraft managed to make contact with the object, which was moving at about 72 knots eastward at an altitude of approximately 47,000 feet. Despite the pilots' efforts, no visual identification was achieved. A weather balloon was considered a likely possibility due to wind conditions and altitude. Analyses concluded it was probably a balloon, as it matched the wind pattern and the estimated arrival time from a prior launch in Maine.
