🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1962, a witness in Estacada, Oregon observed an object traveling from northeast to northwest. The event began with a flash, followed by two objects that maintained the same course. Ten minutes later, one of them exploded. The witness, a 12-year-old boy, used an 80-power telescope and also saw a jet in the sky at the same time. He heard the sound of a jet engine, adding to the confusion of the phenomenon. The Air Force report concluded there was insufficient information for a definitive evaluation, and a second witness did not respond after six months of waiting.
The case was classified as insufficient for analysis due to the lack of reliable data. Despite the telescope observation and the presence of another witness, investigators could not determine if the object was a balloon, an aircraft, an astronomical event, or something unknown. The description of the object as bright like a white star and its sudden explosion raised unanswered questions. The case was filed without a clear conclusion, leaving open the possibility of an unusual phenomenon or a common misunderstanding.
