🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1962, a crew at sea spotted an unusual object near Wake Island. The object, described as a white pea-sized dot, appeared without sound or tail. Seen for eight minutes, it moved rapidly northeast, gradually disappearing. Observers used binoculars and the naked eye, adding credibility to the sighting. Despite its strange appearance, investigators concluded it was the satellite Echo I, whose trajectory matched the sighting.
The official evaluation, conducted by military personnel, ruled out other explanations like balloons or aircraft. The object's precise location in the sky and circular movement supported the satellite theory. This case, though resolved, remains interesting for the accuracy of the data and its alignment with a known space event. The report, classified and later declassified, is part of a long history of UFO investigations.
