🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1962, a group of schoolchildren in Missouri observed two round white objects moving silently without a trail. They described the objects as resembling dinner plates, with no visible tail or exhaust. Initially appearing as a single unit, the objects separated and one seemed to pause for a moment. The sighting occurred at dusk, and the children, who had read extensively about UFOs, could not confirm if they were balloons, aircraft, or astronomical phenomena. The lack of radar and the distance covered made identification difficult.
The official conclusion was that there was insufficient information to determine the nature of the objects. Balloons or aircraft were considered, but data was lacking. The location and weather conditions further complicated the evaluation. Despite the absence of radar contact, the observers insisted it was not a common phenomenon, which generated some controversy in the official assessment.
