🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1962, an 18-year-old in Millsap, Texas, reported seeing an unusual aerial object that resembled a jet but had strange characteristics. The object suddenly appeared in the southeast sky, emitted a roaring sound similar to a jet engine, and quickly disappeared toward the northwest. Although the witness initially thought it was an X-15, investigators concluded it could have been a meteor or bolide. The detailed account of the young man, including the object's color and trajectory, was recorded in an official U.S. Air Force form.
The report includes precise data about the time, location, and weather conditions, which were clear skies. The witness was not alone, but no one else saw the object. Although he estimated the object was half a mile away and traveling at about 200 mph, these figures are subjective. The Air Force did not reach a definitive conclusion but suggested the phenomenon could be explained by natural events. The case was filed without further investigation, but it remains an interesting example of how UFO sightings were documented in the 1960s.
