🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1962, a destroyer in the Pacific reported two four-engine aircraft with red markings. One displayed a red "V" on the tail and the other a red star. Observers noted they flew low, with a swept wing at 45 degrees and a speed of 250 knots. Although initially thought to be aircraft, the evaluation concluded they posed no threat.
The report, classified under Project 10073, was distributed to multiple military and intelligence agencies. It was considered that the objects were possibly balloons or astronomical phenomena, but no definitive conclusion was reached. The lack of photographs and the visual nature of the observation complicated the analysis. Despite the unusual low altitude and speed, the data did not allow for a certain identification of the objects.
