🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1962, an officer on the USS Forster sighted an object in the Pacific that appeared like a first-magnitude star. The object was orange-white with a yellowish cast, had no tail or glow, and moved southeast. It was observed for a full minute before disappearing behind clouds. There was no radar contact and no optical aids were used, adding to the mystery of the sighting.
Although the report classified it as a satellite, other possibilities weren't ruled out. Several witnesses, including experienced sailors who had previously seen confirmed satellites, considered the sighting reliable. However, there was insufficient data for a definitive evaluation, and the case remained in the satellite category. This document reflects the confusion and need for deeper analysis during the golden age of UFO reports.
