In May 1962, Dayton and its surroundings witnessed several sightings of an unidentified object. Citizens called the police to report strange lights in the sky, generating a significant number of UFO-related calls. After investigation, it was determined that the object was a small unidentified aircraft with flashing advertising lights. Despite this conclusion, one witness, a 38-year-old woman, described in detail an object ascending vertically without making noise, with red and white lights at its ends and a central glowing area of orange-red color.
