🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1962, several witnesses in Troy, New Hampshire, observed a bright object near the horizon. The phenomenon occurred around sunset and at 2:00 AM, when a group of people saw the object moving up and down, side to side, and then disappearing. Later, six additional objects appeared. Although the report is inconclusive, investigators suggest it could be astronomical bodies like Venus or Jupiter, whose light is refracted by the atmosphere. One witness, impressed by the event, compared it to the unidentified flying objects shown in U.S. Air Force films.
The testimony includes details of how the initial observer called his family and neighbors to see the phenomenon. Despite the sighting being repeated on May 29, no photos or precise technical data were taken. The official report concludes there is not enough information to determine the object's nature with certainty, but explanations like balloons or aircraft are ruled out. The case reflects the uncertainty and mystery surrounding UFO sightings in the 1960s, when public curiosity was high and scientific explanations were still developing.
