🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian in Hyattsville, Maryland, reported in 1962 the observation of a bright object moving across the sky from northeast to southwest. The account describes the object as a clear, solid-looking light with well-defined edges, visible for about a minute. Although no photographs were taken and there were no other witnesses, the report concludes the phenomenon was likely a meteor. The witness estimated the object was traveling at 20,000 miles per hour, a speed consistent with a meteor entering the atmosphere. The description of the object, along with its path and duration, supports the hypothesis of an astronomical event.
