🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1962, a group of people in Veracruz, Mexico, observed a luminous object slowly crossing the sky from west to east. The object was described as having the size and brightness of the evening star, leading witnesses to believe it might be an artificial satellite. However, the data available was not enough to confirm this hypothesis. The possibility of it being the Echo satellite was ruled out, as it did not match the expected timing in the shared time zone with New Orleans. Although another satellite was considered, there was no confirmation, so the case was classified as insufficient for a definitive evaluation.
The report was sent by the Department of State and mentions that local media were interested in identifying the object. Despite public attention, no photos or additional data were recorded to clarify the nature of the phenomenon. Cases like this, where there are sightings but insufficient information, are common in the history of UFO observations.
