🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1962, an observer in Kingsville, Louisiana, reported a bright green unidentified object. The sighting occurred at 10:45 PM and lasted about five minutes. The object was seen following a zigzag course, making it appear as if it changed direction repeatedly. The observer, a former U.S. Navy radar operator, noted that the object disappeared over the horizon to the northeast. Although the possibility of it being a satellite like Echo I was considered, investigators concluded that the object's nature could not be determined with certainty. Weather and atmospheric conditions were cited as possible explanations for the object's unusual behavior.
The official investigation did not reach a definitive conclusion, and the case was filed as insufficient for clear evaluation. However, the observer's testimony and detailed description of the object's movement add an element of mystery to this sighting. Despite dismissing other conventional explanations such as balloons or aircraft, the report did not entirely rule out the possibility of the object being extraterrestrial. This case, like many others from that era, reflects the uncertainty and curiosity surrounding UFO reports in the 1960s.
