🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A civilian pilot spotted a bright object in Greenville, Maine, in 1962. The object was moving at great speed without making noise or leaving a trail. It was described as a steady yellowish-white light, similar to stars but slightly less intense. The observer, an experienced pilot, estimated the object to be about the size of a baseball. The phenomenon was visible for about 20 seconds, moving straight north without deviation. Although no photos were taken, military officials considered it could be a mid-air refueling exercise or a low-altitude interceptor drill, as aircraft from Loring Air Force Base were conducting similar operations in the area at that time.
