🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1962, multiple witnesses in Cleveland, Ohio, reported a reddish object in the sky with an unusual trajectory. One observer described it as an orange fireball that rose and then maintained horizontal flight for five minutes. Others noted that it blinked and moved rapidly in a northeast direction. Although a balloon was considered, especially after a local newspaper mentioned a man launching lighted balloons for a year, the object remained mysterious. The Air Force received several reports and letters from witnesses, including a detailed account from a young man who observed it with binoculars. Despite conventional explanations, the general testimony agreed that the object resembled nothing they had ever seen before.
