🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1962, a farmer in Newark, Ohio, discovered a metallic fragment in a burned pit. The ground had been cleared the day before, suggesting the object wasn’t there prior. The fragment showed no signs of radioactivity and was considered industrial waste, not an extraterrestrial object.
Later analysis confirmed the fragment was a type of iron slag, common in steel production. Although initially intriguing due to its unknown origin, experts concluded it didn’t come from the upper atmosphere or have any connection to unidentified flying objects. This case reflects how many UFO reports often have simple earthly explanations.
