🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1962, an Air Force officer reported a green glowing object near Tyndall AFB, Florida. The sighting occurred at dusk and lasted about five seconds. The object, described as circular with no tail or exhaust, appeared and disappeared intermittently, attributed to cloud cover. Despite its unusual appearance, investigators concluded it was likely a meteor, based on the description and duration of the event.
The observation was made by two highly reliable witnesses, including a weapons control instructor with 2500 flight hours. Weather conditions included scattered clouds and some cirrus, explaining the intermittent visibility. The Air Force concluded it was not a man-made object, as it showed no signs of overheating or typical emissions. The object's location and trajectory also supported the theory that it was an astronomical phenomenon.
