Summary

In October 1962, a civilian in Chicago observed a luminous object resembling a star moving from west to east. The witness used low-powered binoculars and observed the object for 15 minutes. Although no photos were taken, the report concluded that the object was likely the ECHO I satellite, even though data for Chicago was not available at the time.
