🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1962, a witness in Wyoming observed a bright object that slowly ascended to an altitude of 40,000 feet. The report details how the object, initially mistaken for an aircraft, displayed unusual characteristics such as intense light and an oval shape surrounded by a haze. The witness, a retired security officer, described the object's behavior in detail, remaining stationary for minutes before rising and moving slowly. Although a weather balloon was considered, the report could not conclusively identify the object.
The report includes meteorological data and observations of nearby objects, such as a balloon launched from Lander, Wyoming. However, the second object did not match the expected pattern of balloons, raising doubts about its nature. Investigators concluded there was insufficient information to determine if it was an astronomical phenomenon, a balloon, or an aircraft. The witness, convinced the object was artificial, noted its behavior did not align with any known vehicle. The case remains unresolved, adding another mystery to the UFO sightings of the 1960s.
