🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1962, an observer at Westover AFB, Massachusetts, reported a cigar-shaped object with a dark orange hue and a darker aura in the center. The object vibrated and had yellow-orange edges. It remained stationary for three minutes before disappearing suddenly. The observation was made visually from the ground, and it was concluded to be a jet aircraft with an afterburner. However, no such aircraft were airborne in the area at that time. The description and duration of the sighting aligned with a jet, but the lack of flight confirmation created some uncertainty.
A second sighting occurred on November 27, 1962, when a round object with white, blue, and amber colors was observed for 50 minutes. Initially mistaken for a star, it was identified as Betelgeuse and other celestial bodies due to its position and movement. The observation was prompted by a civilian call that alerted a witness, who viewed it from a window. The official conclusion was that it was a misinterpretation of astronomical bodies, possibly influenced by atmospheric refractions.
