🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1962, an Eastern Airlines flight reported an object with flashing lights resembling an aircraft beacon. The sighting occurred near Tamiami, Florida, at around 9000 feet altitude. Although it looked like an aircraft signal, the light pattern was not standard. The object's direction and speed could not be determined, creating some uncertainty. Other Eastern Airlines flights were in the area, providing additional context, but the phenomenon could not be conclusively identified.
The official conclusion suggested it was likely an aircraft, but other possibilities were not ruled out. This case, though brief, shows how even in the 1960s, unexplained sightings generated interest and analysis by aerospace and military authorities.
