🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In December 1962, an observer in the Atlantic reported a round, bright, blue-white object resembling a first-magnitude star. The phenomenon was seen for five minutes at 45 degrees above the horizon, moving southeast. Although binoculars were used, the object was clearly visible to the naked eye, which intrigued the witness. The observation took place at night with moonlight, aiding visibility.
Classified reports by the U.S. Air Force concluded that the object was not a balloon, aircraft, or conventional astronomical phenomenon, but was evaluated as a satellite. Despite no radar data or photographs being obtained, the object's movement and appearance matched those of a satellite in orbit. This case, though not definitively confirmed, adds an intriguing chapter to the history of unidentified aerial sightings.
