UFO sighted in the Atlantic in 1962

Summary

In December 1962, an observer on land spotted a luminous object in the Atlantic, near the coordinates 61.38N 07.15W. The object appeared suddenly and was described as round, the size of a pea, with a greenish hue. It was moving very fast toward the southwest, remaining visible for about 30 seconds. Its trajectory seemed to follow a gravitational orbit, disappearing as it approached the horizon. Despite the detailed description, the data was insufficient for a clear evaluation.

Military reports from the time recorded this sighting as part of an effort to understand unexplained aerial phenomena. Several possibilities were considered, from satellites to meteors, but there was not enough information to rule any out. The lack of images or additional data made it difficult to classify the event.
