🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1963, a man and his three teenage children in Maysville, Kentucky, observed an object that initially appeared to be a helicopter. The object was round, about 30 feet in diameter, with red and blue lights arranged symmetrically. It hovered briefly before suddenly accelerating westward. The witness noted that the object tilted vertically before disappearing quickly. The sound resembled a conventional aircraft, though its speed was extraordinary. Another witness confirmed seeing low lights over the highway.
The Air Force investigated and concluded it was likely a SAC RBS (Radar Bomb Scoring) aircraft flying at low altitude in the area. Although the witnesses did not identify it as an aircraft, the timing matched military operations on the night of February 8th. No photos were taken, but the report accurately detailed the time, description, and behavior of the object. The case was evaluated as an aircraft sighting, though questions remain about the perception of the object's shape and movement.
