🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1963, a border observer in Iran reported an unidentified flying object resembling a rocket. It was estimated to be flying at an altitude of 1,000 meters from southeast to northwest, with a thick smoke trail. The report, classified by the U.S. Department of Defense, could not determine whether it was a balloon, aircraft, or something else. The lack of precise data, such as speed or duration of the sighting, complicated the evaluation.
The report was prepared by DUB, an intelligence source, and distributed to military units in Iran and Europe. Despite the classification, no definitive conclusions were reached, and the case was filed as "insufficient for evaluation". These kinds of reports, though incomplete, reflect the interest of authorities in any unexplained aerial phenomenon during the Cold War.
