🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1963, an observer in the Houston, Texas area sighted a cylindrical object estimated to be about 50 feet long. The object was described as light blue with an orange nose, and the observer noted small splinters or pieces coming from its sides. The sighting lasted about 4 seconds, with the object moving north in an arched trajectory before disappearing suddenly. Two pilots also reported a similar object, though they believed it was a meteor.
The official evaluation concluded that the object was an astronomical meteor, as its trajectory, duration, and behavior matched typical meteor characteristics. No evidence of satellites or other space programs was found in the area. Despite the detailed description and the observer's calm demeanor during the call, the report did not record the names of the pilots or the observer, who was considered a reliable source. The case was closed without further investigation.
