🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In March 1963, three officers aboard the USS Sculpin reported a circular object shining like a star. They observed it for nine minutes while taking astronomical sightings. The object had no aircraft lights and moved in a straight line from east to west. Witnesses considered it a possible satellite. The official evaluation classified it as a satellite, although there was initial confusion about the direction of movement that was later corrected.
The report, part of Project 10073, did not include physical evidence and relied on visual observations with binoculars and a sextant. Despite initial doubts, the officers were deemed reliable and no other unexplained phenomena were recorded. The final conclusion was that the object was a satellite, which matched the observed characteristics.
