🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1963, a witness in Chantilly, Virginia, observed a reddish object moving quickly across the sky. The case occurred twice, on April 3 and 18, with similar descriptions. In both cases, the object was described as resembling Mars, with a slight reddish tint, and moving in an east-northeast or south direction. Despite the Air Force classifying both sightings as aircraft, the witnesses reported no sound or blinking lights, which raised doubts. The witness, a Canadian journalist, even submitted a detailed report to the Air Force, suggesting it might be something unusual.
The first observation lasted two minutes, and the object disappeared behind trees. The second time, the object zigzagged and moved erratically, complicating its identification. The witness and his wife agreed it wasn't a conventional aircraft, and although they considered the possibility of a weather balloon, they couldn't confirm anything. The case was filed without a clear explanation, but the detailed descriptions and the repetition of the phenomenon in the same location suggest there might be more than a simple misunderstanding.
