Summary

In April 1963, a worker in Cloquet, Minnesota, observed a tear-shaped object the size of a football. The witness saw it for five seconds, describing it as a bright blue fireball with no visible exhaust. The object moved from west to east in an arced path and was classified as an astronomical meteor. Although it might initially seem unusual, the description and behavior of the object align with what is expected from a bright meteor. The lack of photographs and the brief duration of the observation did not prevent investigators from concluding it was a natural phenomenon.

The report reached the U.S. Air Force and was distributed to several intelligence and analysis units. Despite official attention, there were no additional comments or need for further investigation. This case, like many others, was classified and filed without further conclusions supporting a non-natural explanation. The testimony of a civilian, along with the technical description of the event, is part of the vast collection of UFO reports that, in many cases, end up being explained by atmospheric or astronomical phenomena.
