🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1963, an object resembling a satellite was observed during a Northwest Airlines flight. Witnesses noted an object moving in a north-to-south orbit. Although there were no precise data on its speed or altitude, observers assumed it was a satellite due to its behavior. The official evaluation considered the object could be a balloon, an aircraft, or an astronomical phenomenon, but the lack of concrete information limited the conclusions. This case was recorded as part of the Project 10073 files, a program investigating unidentified aerial phenomena.
The report includes incomplete observation data, such as the exact location and duration of the sighting, which made a more precise evaluation difficult. Despite this, the available data suggested the object was in orbit, leading analysts to consider it a satellite. However, other possibilities were also raised, such as it being a weather balloon or an astronomical phenomenon. This type of report was common at the time, when observational technology was limited and aerial sightings could not always be identified with certainty.
