🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A white round object was sighted in Northfield, Illinois, on May 11, 1963, for approximately 25 minutes. Witnesses reported the object had windows and was moving northeast at a low altitude, around 700 feet. It was described as having an oscillating or spinning motion, making it difficult to identify from a distance. Although six men from the same group observed it, official conclusions suggested it was likely a balloon or an aircraft, though no definitive identification was reached. The lack of precise data and the unusual movement of the object caused some confusion in the official evaluation.
The official investigation could not determine the nature of the object with certainty, as several hypotheses were considered, from astronomical phenomena to conventional aircraft. However, none of the collected data allowed for a conclusive evaluation. The report, though brief, reflects the typical ambiguity of many UFO cases from that era, where technological limitations and lack of clear evidence made a definitive resolution difficult.
