🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In May 1963, an officer aboard the USS Gearing reported an unidentified flying object over the Atlantic. The object, observed for two minutes, left a red vapor trail believed to be a reflection of sunlight. Although initially considered a balloon or aircraft, the data suggested something more intriguing. The report concluded it could be a missile part, given the upward trajectory and location near a known missile range. No photos were taken, but the sighting was deemed sufficient for preliminary evaluation.
