Summary

In June 1963, a 13-year-old boy in Chicago observed a series of mysterious objects while looking at the moon through his telescope. He saw at least 20 dark, round, and shiny objects rapidly crossing the lunar surface. The phenomenon occurred four times within five minutes, causing confusion and curiosity. The official report attributed it to atmospheric conditions, possibly a flock of birds or airborne particles, but the witness insisted visibility was clear and there were no clouds. Adler Planetarium also suggested an atmospheric explanation, though the boy wasn't fully convinced.

A second report, dated June 1963, describes a single silver object traveling from north to west over Lake Michigan. Although the official who recorded the case considered it an aircraft observation, the report notes that data was insufficient for a definitive evaluation.
