🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A witness in the Pacific reported a bright object resembling a star on June 15, 1963. The object appeared at 30 degrees above the horizon and moved northeast for 11 minutes before fading. Although various explanations like balloons or aircraft were considered, the report concluded it was likely the ECHO I satellite. Launched in 1960, ECHO I was known for reflecting radio signals and being visible to the naked eye under certain conditions. Its calculated position at the time matches the sighting. However, the nature of the report and lack of additional data or photos leave room for doubt, typical of many UFO cases from that era.
